no really, i'm done now...

...but I just couldn't let the opportunity pass--following my Carpenters fixation of late--to share this fantastic mix of snippets of various tracks by the terminally un-cool seventies easy listenin' duo in a crazy Christmas dub reggae stylee:

Thanks again to the man from Planet Mondo for this.

Merry Christmas!

I'm admiring your Christmas spirit Hoops!

Love the Donny Hathaway track and even the Eagles and Carpenters offerings. Not sure about that Perry Como and Jack Benny skit though!

And there is just something about that dub Carpenters mix isn't there? It shouldn't work but it just does.

Have a merry one!

Actually, I'm loving the Donny Hathaway song. Do you know where I can get a copy of it?!

Thanks Cocktails! Hope you have a good one yourself.

I could do with some good loud guitars to get me out of this schmaltz. Glad you like the songs though, and thanks for the Planet Mondo and Carnival Saloon links.

The Donny Hathaway is definitely available from iTunes--I downloaded my own copy yesterday!

Enjoy...

I love the 'quack' tuba/trumpet riff that repeats throughout this track. GHP's new one for 2008 is a
Blondie/Macca mashup - but my fave from him is a piece of geniusness called Christmas In Boston - also check out this peach from the Sonic Executive Sessions (on their myspace site for a limited run only)
